Winter Pruning

Winter is the time to be pruning all of your hard wood plants roses, fruit trees hydrangeas and other ornamental trees etc.
It is an opportunity to remove that old growth and cross growth to open up the centre and allow some air movement and light in. This will generate new growth and in many cases produce better flowering.
Take care with roses and collect all pruning's and dispose of into a bin, do not put them in the compost as they may contain diseases.
