Semken Landscaping Awards
Award Winning Performance
Semken Landscaping has long been a supporter of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS). Over the years, our input into the show has grown from being just another single site landscaper to being the largest contributor of any landscaper in Australia, with 8 sites constructed by Semken Landscaping in 2003.
This effort is amplified by the fact that the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is the largest show of its type in the Southern Hemisphere and is rated in the top 5 garden shows in the world.
In 2003, Semken Landscaping was asked to construct a site at the first ever Sydney in Bloom Garden Show. Semken Landscaping's years of experience again shone through as we skilfully constructed the quality design of Jim Fogarty Designs to take a Gold Medal. Later in the same year Semken Landscaping, along with Fleming's Nursery and Jim Fogarty got together to plan a garden to take to the Chelsea Flower Show in 2004.
The plans were accepted for the Biggest Horticultural Show in the world and the 1st ever by Australians. After a full year of planning and much organising they were rewarded for their great efforts and a Silver Guilt Award was won. This display garden was a modification of Jim Fogarty's Award winning display at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2003.
Again in 2005 we teamed up with Jim Fogarty to win a Gold Medal and Best in Show Award at MIFGS.
At the Chelsea Flower Show in 2005 Mark Bence, Martin Semken and a team from Semken Landscaping - were asked to join a crew to work on "The Ecover", Chelsea Pensioners Garden Designed by Julian Dowle. This garden was awarded a Gold Medal, Best Show Garden Award and the BBC Peoples Choice Award, the first time one garden had won all 3 awards.
